Gazette readers have done it - you have raised a whopping £21,741.71 for the Evening Gazette Sparkle Appeal.

Benefit - Aaron Coutts gives his pony a celebratory pat. 40131-3

This sum meets the cost of building an indoor riding centre for the disabled at Foot's Farm, Clacton.

Sarah Oxley, Gazette assistant group news editor, proudly handed over a giant cheque to representatives of Tendring Trust for the Disabled.

Sam Pound, trust president, said: "Words cannot properly express how grateful we are to all the readers of the Gazette who have contributed so generously to the Sparkle Appeal.

"We want everyone who has donated money to know that the indoor riding centre is going to make a big difference to the lives of so many disabled people."

Irene Kettle, editor of the Evening Gazette, added: "To have raised the £21,741.71 needed to build the indoor riding centre is a fantastic achievement for our readers."
