Royal Mail has suspended Christmas deliveries to an entire street after a woman allegedly attacked one postman and drenched another in urine.

In an "extremely rare" move, no mail has been delivered to Vermont Close, Felmores, for four weeks after the "frail" elderly woman is accused of launching the attacks.

And with no sign of the suspension being lifted, families in the quiet close are having to make daily trips to Basildon sorting office to collect their own mail.

Neighbours claim the woman is an eccentric who has exposed herself to builders, abused people and been spotted dancing in the streets.
