The first two official cruise nights in Southend have been hailed a great success - but the full effect will not be clear until next summer, according to the council.
Council leader Howard Briggs said while there had been a decrease in antisocial behaviour and irresponsible driving since the initiative began in November, the real test would come in the summer, when there were many more people around the town.
In the new year, the next cruise night - the third organised by the Southend Cruise Partnership - will take place on Saturday, February 12.
The partnership includes representatives from the cruiser population, Southend Police, Southend Council, residents and seafront traders.
It was set up to try and combat the problems caused by the behaviour of a small minority of cruisers in the town.
Chairman Brian Kelly, council cabinet member in charge of transport, said: "The cruisers have responded by behaving responsibly and this is something we want to encourage and build on."
