A former Bradfield woman has died in a road accident in the West Country.
Caroline Huffey, 23, whose parents live in Cansey Lane, Bradfield, died after her car was in collision with two ponies near Meare in Somerset.
The accident, in which both horses died, happened at about 7.50am last Wednesday on the B3151, near Wedmore, at the Blakeway, about a mile from Westhay.
After the collision, Miss Huffey's Skoda Octavia crashed into a bridge barrier over Panborough Drain at the bottom of Mudgley Hill.
Police believe the ponies may have bolted from roadside premises shortly before the accident but a full inquiry has been launched by collision investigators.
An inquest into Miss Huffey's death was opened and adjourned on Friday when it was revealed she died from multiple injuries consistent with a road accident.
Miss Huffey, of Moorland Road, Street, lived with her partner David Hunter at their home on the Mendip View estate, near Houndwood.
