Essex motorists can breathe a sigh of relief as roadworks are removed from the county's roads during the Christmas period.
The main works for the £9 million scheme to resurface the A12 in Essex between Kelvedon North and Marks Tey finished in mid December.
However, since then there had been in place ovenight single-lane closures for finishing works.
A spokesman for the Highways Agency, said: "In line with the rest of the country, the Highways Agency is removing roadworks during the Christmas period."
She said the overnight lane closures were removed yesterday and will start again on Monday, January 10.
This will enable minor works to be completed which are planned to be completed by January 17.
