Colchester MP Bob Russell has called for a public inquiry into the St Botolph's Quarter regeneration, which he described as a "charade".

He claimed that the authority had been "holding secret talks with developers of whom the public had no knowledge", influencing plans for the visual arts facility and the proposed transfer of the bus station from Queen Street to Osborne Street.
