Parking charges in a mid-Essex town are set to rise by nearly seven per cent.
Chelmsford Council's cabinet opted for a 10p hike in short-stay charges and a 20p increase in long-stay tickets.
Charges for 15-minute parking remain unchanged.
The charges apply to council-owned car parks in the county town.
Quarterly season tickets could increase by £22.50, while resident parking goes up from £10 and £12 to £16 and £18 the first rise in nine years.
Charges for worker permits, currently £500 for a year or £250 for six months, will go up £20 and £10 respectively.
