Colchester United boss Phil Parkinson is determined not to be beaten by the recent poor run suffered by the U's.

His charges fell to their third Coca-Cola League One defeat in a row when they lost 1-0 at Brentford on Saturday.

The Bees triumphed at Griffin Park thanks to a goal in stoppage-time at the end of the first half.

John Salako struck through a crowded penalty box as he picked the ball up from a corner to score the only goal of the game.

Parkinson's bench timed the goal at 48 minutes, a full two minutes after the originally stated one minute of stoppage-time had elapsed.

"The referee has told me that the goal was scored on 46 minutes and 36 seconds, but we had well into the 48th minute," said Parkinson.

"The lads also felt the ball had gone out from the corner when it was delivered in. But it was an absolute killer for us.

"We've played the minute of additional time, then it carries on and carries on.

"Things are really not going for us.

"It's not like we are being beaten by three or four goals each week.

"We shall not buckle, though.

"We have to keep our heads up and work through this and we know it will come."
