Defender Jason De Vos, captain of Canada, and striker Shefki Kuqi, who has 33 caps for Finland,
were joined by defender Aidan Collins when they visited Colchester General Hospital.
They handed out presents as they carried on a long tradition of Ipswich Town footballers visiting the children's ward at Christmas.
The children were delighted to see the footballers and really enjoyed the afternoon visit.
Terri Chandler, a nurse specialist for asthma allergy and a season ticker holder at Portman Road for more than 20 years, said: "Ipswich's next game is at home to top-of-the-table Wigan so the staff and children are really grateful they took time out from their preparations to come and visit us."
