Delancey's deputy chairman Colin Wagman today confirmed he had received an approach from Shrimpers supremo Ron Martin for the company's 50 percent of shares in Southend United.
Delancey have invested millions in helping to secure the future of the League Two side but Wagman revealed they were now considering ending their six-year-long association with the cash-strapped club.
"We've had an approach and we will talk about it," Wagman said.
"When there's something more to say to the supporters we will tell them but right now there is nothing else to tell them.
"We've always said right from the start that we were not long term football club owners.
"We've been here many years now though - more than some people thought - and we are definitely not cut and run people."
