A talented pupil beat off stiff competition to win a card design contest.
Jemma Harvey, 14, of Alec Hunter High School, took first place in the event organised by Barbara Fraser, owner of the Deco card shop in George Yard, Braintree.
It was set up to test youngsters studying GCSE art and design at Braintree College.
The year 10 pupils from Alec Hunter High School and Tabor Science College visited Deco to find out about materials used in hand-made cards and to gain ideas and inspiration for their own designs.
