A five-year-old boy whose mum died suddenly has been given a helping hand by the friends she left behind.
Fantastic response Michelle Rann, Bev Sanderson and Jodie Wells with the whopper of a cheque for Kieron. (40163-a)
Tammy Warren, 30, of The Meers, Kirby Cross, died in her sleep while she was staying in Colchester.
She left behind her son, Kieron, but friends concerned for the Frinton Primary School pupil's future rallied around to raise some money to help him in later life.
But the staggering response to a fun night for the youngster has left organisers overwhelmed, as it raised over £6,500.
Jodie Wells and Michelle Rann spent months organising auction and raffle prizes for the night at the Royal Albion pub and now feel all their hard work has paid off.
Miss Rann said: "We were really impressed with people's generosity. It may be because Walton is such a small community but everyone was great. We were really overwhelmed."
