Drug dealing is the problem which residents in Jaywick most want to see tackled.
A survey was filled out by residents who attended a public meeting aimed at coming up with an action plan for how to improve the area.
At the meeting, representatives from the police and a number of other agencies - including the Tendring Crime and Disorder Partnership, Tendring Council and voluntary agencies - were on hand to give advice and listen to residents' problems.
A survey was carried out to find out what the residents felt was most important to deal with.
From the results, 96 per cent of residents living in Jaywick listed drug dealing as very important.
Anti-social behaviour was listed by 94 per cent of residents as being very important.
Police officers making fast response times to incidents was put in the very important category by 86 per cent of residents.
Insp Paul Butcher, of Clacton police, said: "We are extremely encouraged by the results of the survey.
"It has helped identify the issues the people of Jaywick feel most strongly about."
