Southend United striker Drewe Broughton has returned to Roots Hall after failing to secure a permanent switch to Rushden and Diamonds.
The tall targetman netted five goals in 10 games during a two-month loan spell with the Nene Park side.
But Broughton still does not expect to figure in Steve Tilson's plans now his loan spell has ended.
"Things went excellently for me at Rushden and I really enjoyed myself," said the forward.
"They were pleased with how I played, I got a few goals and got my sharpness back too, but Southend are on a great run at the moment.
"They've been getting good results and I don't think Steve Tilson will be able to force me back into the team.
"That will be hard for me to take after the last two months so I may have to look to move elsewhere, but we will have to wait and see what happens."
