Groups of youngsters will be broken up and ordered home following a spate of trouble in Old Leigh, police warned today.
Gangs have tormented residents with drunken fights and vomiting outside people's homes.
Bobbies and police community support officers have confiscated hundreds of bottles and cans of alcohol after reports of trouble in Old Leigh, Chalkwell Esplanade and Marine Parade.
One resident described the behaviour and size of one gang outside her home as "like a scene from Braveheart".
