A driver has died after his car overturned in Braintree after hitting a central reservation.
The Renault Clio driver, 21, of Braintree, was travelling along Millennium Way from the B & Q roundabout towards the Wyevale roundabout when the car hit the nearside kerb and went into the central reservation crash barrier.
A police spokesman said witnesses saw the car travelling for some distance on its roof.
An ambulance spokeswoman said two ambulances, an incident support officer and a doctor were sent to the crash at 6pm last night, but the car driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Millennium Way was sealed off last night while officers from Bocking traffic unit carried out their investigations. Formal identification of the body is expected to be carried out today.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact Bocking traffic on 01376 330722.
The 19-year-old Braintree driver of a Ford Escort car was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on police bail.
