A woman who dishonesty claimed more than £28,000 in benefits by signing on in both her own name and her sister's has been jailed for nine months.
Kim Smith, 32, of Station Road, Westcliff, fiddled the Department of Work and Pensions regularly over a ten-year period from 1994 while living in Hastings, Sussex.
Hove Crown Court heard she claimed income support and jobseekers' allowance in her own name and her sister's name, Toni Waters, despite working part-time as a cleaner.
It was claimed Smith had "deep-seated resentment" towards her sister. She was fostered as a baby, while her sibling was brought up by their grandmother.
