A man had to be taken to hospital after a vehicle collided with an empty office front, even though he was no where near the crash.
His 72-year-old wife, from Leigh, had come to pick up him up from the clinic in Southchurch Road, Southend, when she was involved in the accident, which shattered the office window opposite and damaged the front of her green Honda people carrier.
She was uninjured in the incident but her 54-year-old husband received such a shock when he came out of the clinic and saw the crash that worried ambulance crews felt he needed medical treatment.
