Raiders have got away with thousands of pounds worth of cherished items in a daylight break-in.
The thieves stripped walls of oil paintings and rifled through drawers for jewellery after breaking in to the house in Upper Third Avenue, Frinton.
Police put the value of the items at more than £10,000. The thieves who got in from the back also took porcelain figures and silver forks.
The raid on the detached house took place between 8.20am and 3.40pm on Wednesday.
