Cruel pet owners dumped a starving dog in a cardboard box and left it out in the open to die.
Lego builds his way to fitness
Luckily, the pooch was rescued by a man walking his dog on Tiptree Heath and taken to the village vets. The starving animal was suffering from a broken leg and a heart murmur.
Vets in Tiptree gave the distressed terrier-cross first aid and stabilised its condition.
Yvonne Jones said: "We called him Lego because he's all in bits. He was very thin but he's been eating like a rottweiler."
The RSPCA is appealing for help tracking down the dog's owners.
