Southend travel to Tabard tomorrow in National Division Three South hoping for a change in fortune.
The Seasiders have lost their opening three league matches and are currently second from bottom in the table, while their Hertfordshire hosts are sixth, having won twice.
Kevin Harman's side made the most of a spare weekend last Saturday to put in extra training and called on the Premier League experience of Saracens second row Kris Chesney to give them a helping hand.
"Kris is a friend and it was of huge benefit to all the lads to work with him," said director of rugby Harman.
"He has been with Saracens for 10 years and has a lot to offer on the coaching side.
"It was also nice for me to have another voice for the players to listen to on the training ground.
"We have been turning the ball over to the opposition far too easily this season and Kris worked with the lads to help them improve their ball continuity.
"It was a good session and now we have to put the lessons we have learned into practice at Tabard tomorrow."
