Canvey Island's plans of Nationwide Conference success have been dealt a massive blow by the news that goal star Lee Boylan has fractured his ankle.
The super striker, who has netted more than 150 goals for Gulls in little more than three seasons, was stretchered off during Tuesday's 4-1 win at Stevenage Borough.
He was taken to hospital with a suspected ankle ligament injury, but the club's worst fears were realised when x-rays revealed a break.
Said manager Jeff King: "It's a massive blow and we're certainly having a rough ride with injuries this season."
