Distressed parents have appealed for their missing son to let them know he is safe.
Gary Lovett disappeared from his Parkeston home seven months ago and his family have now made a direct plea for him to get in contact.
It comes after a possible sighting of him by a member of the public in Clacton.
Stepmother Irene Lovett, 58, said: "Gary, if you read this, will you please get in touch? We just want to know you are safe and well."
Mr Lovett, of Una Road, has gone missing before but he has never been away for so long without getting in touch.
Police are becoming increasingly worried about the 47-year-old Mr Lovett, who is 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall, weighs 12st and is of slim build. He has receding fair hair and usually has facial stubble.
