Comedian Terry Alderton is within touching distance of living his dream - starring in a big-time football match.
And he won't be playing it for laughs when he lines up as goalkeeper for a celebrity XI against a team of former Premiership stars this weekend.
The south Essex comic seems certain to be picked by viewers in the reality series The Match on Sky One. And he shouldn't let anyone down, for Terry he used to play as a goalie for Southend United's youth team.
These skills will be make it unlikely he will be put up for the chop by viewers. Until the match on Sunday, viewers get to boot out four players by voting for their least favourite celeb.
The week-long reality series follows a squad of 18 celebrities as they train for the charity match at St James's Park, Newcastle, on Sunday.
Among the celebrities are included The Royle Family's Ralf Little, GMTV's Ben Shephard, former Steps singer Lee Latchford Evans and Footballers' Wives actor Gary Lucy. The footballing legends include Paul Gascoigne, Bryan Robson, Chris Waddle and Peter Beardsley.
