Henley's, of Wivenhoe, beat fish and chip take-aways across Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.
Now it will take on a takeaway in Market Deeping to become supreme champion in eastern England in the National Fish and Chip Shop of the Year competition 2004.
The winner will then compete with ten other regional finalists from across the UK to become the best in Britain.
David Henley, owner of Henley's of Wivenhoe, said: "We have a great relationship with our customers and it's a fantastic achievement for us to have made it this far."
