An appeal has gone out to employers asking them to cash in on a government scheme which can help them train and retain staff.
The Learning and Skills Council in Essex is asking employers with businesses in hospitality, warehouse, construction and logistics to get in touch and take advantage of government funded work-place training.
Among the training choices available under the latest phase of Profit from Learning scheme are courses in food and drink, roof slating, stonemasonry and retail operations.
David Selling, Profit from Learning Project Manager, Chelmsford said: "With the government footing the bill and the possibility of some compensation available to the company (to cover the time spent training during work time) there has never been a better time to train and gain."
