A revamp of Colchester Council's customer service centre has left it with a leaky roof.
Bright front - sunny smiles from Colchester Council's customer services team, right, at the opening of the revamped centre, but it has been found to be a little damp when the glass roof lets in rain. (38551-1)
The council recently spent £650,000 on floors, sound-proofed interview areas and top-notch computers for the Angel Court centre in High Street.
But staff had to rely on good old-fashioned mops and buckets to keep the pristine new surfaces dry as water poured through a crack in the glass roof during last Thursday's rainstorm.
Council communications chief Christopher Arnold has pledged to get the leak fixed.
