A 24-hour swimathon has smashed fundraising records after hundreds of people took the plunge for charity.
This year's Colchester Fire Swim is expected to raise a whopping £25,000 - the highest in its 22-year history.
More than 140 teams took part in the huge fundraiser at Leisure World at the weekend. Leading firefighter and organiser Steve Kerridge said: "If you add up all the lengths, we swum just past Stafford.
"We know we've raised at least £23,234 but there is still more to come. We raised £23,000 a few years ago hopefully, we'll beat that and this will be a new record."
