War veterans from Harwich will play a part in a national event to mark Remembrance Day next month.
The Harwich branch of the Royal British Legion will be involved in a service at the Royal Albert Hall in London on November 13.
Robert Kirk, who served in the Merchant Navy in the Second World War, will present the branch's standard.
Branch chairman Stan Wall is leading a group from the town to witness the event, which will be televised.
John Thurlow, Harwich councillor and member of the Royal British Legion, said: "The Harwich branch has applied to take part several times and it is an honour to be chosen this year.@
