Colchester's Grace Greenhalgh was in majestic form when competing against a vast field of competitors in the popular ten-kilometre race in Southend.
Starting at a fast pace, she maintained her form throughout to come home victorious, winning in a time of 35 minutes and 36 seconds.
It was a personal best by over a minute.
A delighted Greenhalgh said: "I thought I'd started off too quickly but, as the field was so large, I had no alternative.
"After the initial mile my legs felt so strong I decided to keep the pace going.
"I really enjoyed the race and having a personal best made it more rewarding, especially after all the hard training I've been doing recently."
Greenhalgh is first claim for Woodford Green and trains with Colchester And Tendring Athletic Club.
