Union officials are having a crunch meeting today with Essex University bosses over moves to increase parking charges for staff.
Three unions, AUT, Amicus and Unison, have joined together after receiving numerous compaints from their members who work at the university.
Staff and students have been paying just £8-a-year to park but now face flat rates and sliding scales with higher-earning staff paying more.
An Essex University spokesman said: "We recognise the concerns and are meeting to discuss the ongoing implementation of measures to resolve the difficulties we have with parking on campus."
