A taxi driver has died after his car struck a road sign and overturned.
John Moore, 27, from Churchill Rise, Chelmsford, was discovered dead in his overturned car by a passer-by shortly after 5am yesterday.
The Chelmer Valley Cars driver had been heading back towards Chelmsford on the dual carriageway of the A1016 known as Three Mile Hill, close to the Widford area of Chelmsford.
His Vauxhall Astra left the road about half a mile from the White Horse pub, struck a road sign and ended up upside down on a verge.
Police are seeking witnesses to the crash or anyone who may have seen the car before the accident is asked to contact PC Steve Allam at Chelmsford road traffic police on 01245 452918
