Sporting badges, the Save Our Bus Station group opposes moving the station to Osborne Street which is proposed as part of the St Botolph's regeneration scheme.
A Colchester Bus Users Group (C-Bus) survey earlier in this year counted 6,000 people using the bus station daily.
Campaigners are urging people to sign their petition which they will present to Colchester Council before the cabinet's meeting in December.
