Residents who lived through the Second World War are being asked to take part in a BBC project by coming along to tell their stories at Braintree library.
On October 13, the library in Fairfield Road is inviting Braintree folk for a taste of the TV station's project WW2 People's War.
A cup of coffee, biscuits and cakes made to 1940s recipes will be on offer and there will be music from the era and a rationing display with staff in wartime costume.
On October 16, it will be WW2 People's War Family Day at the library. With the mellow voice of wartime singer Al Bowlly or the Andrews Sisters in the background, visitors will be able to enjoy film footage of the war and examine a fascinating collection of wartime memorabilia loaned by Kelvedon Museum.
