A woman found a shark's tooth millions of years old at Walton-on-the-Naze while out beach combing with her family.
Nothing but the tooth - Denise Rowe and her children with her find
Denise Rowe, 36, of Cavendish Avenue, Colchester, goes out beach combing at the Naze with her husband, Chris, and two children, Jordan, 12 and Samuel, seven.
It was there she made her treasured find. She said she was wearing flip-flops and felt something dig into her toe.
The fossil was an Otodus Obliquus shark's tooth from a big shark, probably seven to nine meters long, and about 50 to 55 million years old.
