A severely-disabled man is to undertake a gruelling challenge to help a woman with a crippling illness
When Christopher Philpot was born, his parents were told he would not live beyond 13. But, now 23, Christopher, who has Downs Syndrome, is registered blind, and has a severe heart defect and breathing problems, is getting ready to do a sponsored walk.
The former Windsor School pupil from Burrs Road, Clacton, asked his mum Lynne if he could join in fundraising efforts for her friend Jill Till, who suffers from Parkinson's disease.
Mrs Philpot and other friends are trying to collect £1,200 to buy her an electric buggy.
Next Saturday Christopher will be walking from Tower Holiday Park in Jaywick to Clacton Pier.
