Gabriel Finn is a top author in the making, according to his school, Maldon Court Preparatory, in Silver Street, Maldon.
The star youngster, who is in year six, has recently had work published in an "Out of this World" book.
The school entered The Storycatcher competition as part of its ongoing Gifted, Able and Talented Programme.
