Places are still available for children at the Ark Centre Neighbourhood Nursery in Barrack Lane.
The £500,000 facility caters for new-born babies to five-year-olds so their parents can find employment.
It was funded by a grant from the Government, with priority being given to people from the Harwich East ward. Staff look after children there between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
The Ark Centre's other building in Main Road, Harwich, is currently being refurbished.
