Neil Cochran had a battle royal with close pal Nick Dutnall before finally clinching Rochford Hundr-ed's Senior Championship over 36-holes.
Dutnall fired six birdies, but found himself two down after the morning 18 holes.
However, he fought back well after lunch to level things up after 36 holes. But Cochran, who plays off plus one and recently equalled the Rochford course record, kept his cool and got home at the first extra hole.
There were several other matches also played on finals day and a similar titanic struggle ended with Dave Proctor beating Fred Jennings also on the 37th hole to take the Junior Championship.
Bob Semaine eased out John Harvey to take the Intermediate honours, while Desmond Daly got the better of Harry Snow in the Mid-week final.
Veterans winner was Mike Fisher who saw off John Willis 4 and 3, while John Whittingham beat Jerry Gibson 2 and 1 to take the Scoran More.
Jo Rumsey had too much firepower for Maria Williams to win the Ladies Championship and Talat Buta just edged out cadet John Pleasant 2 and 1 in the Hodsdon Peace final.
The only fourball final able to be played resulted in Andy Fraser and Richard Jubb beating youngsters Adam Ketley and Ross Druitt to claim the Carr Hodsdon trophy.
