Residents with queries about council tax or problems with rubbish collection can get answers at a revamped customer service centre.
Colchester Council has launched its new centre at Angel Court in Colchester High Street, boasting a bigger area and some soundproofed interview rooms to deal with queries in private.
And telephone callers will go through to a contact centre where trained staff will deal with their enquiries.
The range of services on offer includes payments and enquiries about council tax, benefits, travel concessions, waste and recycling, street, highway and parking.
