A record number of people have been benefiting from Farleigh Hospice care.
With day-hospices in Chelmsford, Braintree and Maldon, all 2,286 people supported by Farleigh last year were cared for free of charge, either in their own home, in one of the three hospices or at the in-patient unit in New London Road, Chelmsford.
This is an increase of 17 per cent on last year and nearly double the number of people supported five years ago.
Janet Doghan, chief executive of Farleigh Hospice, said the record levels of care provided by Farleigh Hospice were only possible because of the record breaking efforts of its fantastic supporters across mid-Essex.
