A holiday park wants to increase the amount of time people can stay in their chalets.
Clear Springs Chalet Park, in Low Road, Dovercourt, wants occupancy of chalets between March and mid January.Owners can currently stay there between March and the end of October.
Some concerns have been raised that any changes would, in effect, turn the chalets into permanent residences.
One letter of objection from a member of public was read out at Harwich Town Council's planning meeting on Tuesday night.
But councillor Vickie Williams said she did not see a problem because people are able to stay in touring caravans throughout the year if they want.
Harwich town councillors have asked Tendring Council to check whether the application goes against planning policy.
