Despite having knitted for more than 90 years, one birthday girl shows no sign of laying down her needles.
Needle talent - Ruby Lawrence
Ruby Lawrence, of Abbeyfields, Kelvedon, said she learned how to knit at school and has never looked back.
Mrs Lawrence said: "It keeps me out of mischief. I'll keep knitting for as long as I can see."
Celebrating her 97th birthday yesterday, Mrs Lawrence's talents have brought her many accolades - the most prestigious of which was from Buckingham Palace.
She knitted a shawl for Prince William in 1982, when he was born, and received a thank you letter from the palace in return.
