On your bike - that was the message at a Cycle Mania day held in Chelmsford.
Jack Meek of the Mountain Bike Aerial Display Team goes for the high jump
Chelmsford Environment Partnership organised the event to promote cycling and healthy living and about 1,000 people enjoyed the day of activities in Market Square on Saturday.
There was a professional mountain bike stunt display team, Mountain Bike Aerial Display (Mad), to show off their talents, and for the more sedate Ian Cooper from the Essex Cyclists Touring Club brought along his penny farthing.
There was also the opportunity to take a short escorted cycle ride, cycle safety checks and information and maps about cycle routes.
