Colchester United new-boy Aidan Davison has already tasted the glory of LDV Vans Trophy success - when it was called the Auto Windscreen Shield.
The 36-year-old Northern Ireland international goalkeeper was a member of the Grimsby Town team which saw-off Bournemouth 2-1 in the 1998 final at Wembley.
And he followed it up with a Second Division promotion play-off triumph on the hallowed turf again just two months later.
Davison told the Gazette: "It would be great to go the whole way again this season.
"And, although no-one has yet told me about the catastrophes of last year's game against Southend, I'm very aware that it's a derby game and how important it is to our supporters."
