Work being done to improve a school put on special measures after a critical Ofsted report has been praised by Colchester's MP.
Bob Russell said he was impressed after touring Lexden Springs School and speaking to staff and pupils.
The Lib Dem MP wanted to give all the support and encouragement he could to the school, teachers and support staff, who care for and educate children and young people with very complex special needs.
"I was very impressed with everything I saw when I toured the school, which I have done in the past," he said.
Acting headteacher John Baker said he was overwhelmed by the support and commitment of the local education authority and parents, staff and governors of the school, and Mr Russell.
