Essex Police are hunting a gang of thieves who have smashed their way into telephone kiosks in Witham, Braintree and Halstead to steal cash.
Police are appealing for help in tracing a vehicle, believed to have been used by the thieves, who are suspected to have been involved a number of thefts from payphones in the last couple of weeks.
The vehicle is described as a silver Subaru Legacy and has been displaying a variety of registration plates.
Police are asking for any sightings of this vehicle to be reported immediately but are advising the public purely as a precaution, not to approach the vehicle or its occupants.
To make handling of sightings easier, police have asked anyone with information to phone 01245 491491 and ask for the Braintree desk, quote incident number 0385 of September 22 or ring Braintree police on 01376 551312.
