Design firm Atkins is boosting the number of workers it has in Colchester.
The company is relocating its design team from Chelmsford to the town.
Atkins' newly-refurbished offices in Middleborough will house the 100-or-so staff already in Colchester, along with 65 architects, design engineers, building service engineers and surveyors from Chelmsford.
Jon Grindall, Atkins director for East Anglia, said: "The Colchester office is well located with excellent transport links.
"It places us in the heart of the business network and gives us further exciting opportunities for growth."
The Chelmsford offices will continue to be the base for specialist designers, engineers, surveyors and transport consultants.
