A school for children with moderate learning difficulties is being closed.
The decision to shut The Leas School, in Clacton, which takes five to 16-year-olds, will come into effect on August 31, 2005.
The final decision was made by the Independent Schools Adjudicator Dr Elizabeth Passmore and was announced on Friday.
As part of the decision, alterations will be made to the Windsor School in Clacton from September 1, 2005 to make it a New Model Special School.
These include extending the range of special needs it provides for to include complex needs. The capacity of the school will be increased from 65 pupils to 130.
