A Greek airliner forced to make an emergency landing at Stansted Airport after a bomb threat was today given the all-clear by police.

The plane is being prepared to continue its journey from Athens to America after a six-hour search of the aircraft and baggage of 300 passengers revealed nothing suspicious.

"The plane has now been thoroughly searched and police are satisfied there is no threat to safety," said an Essex Police spokeswoman.
